A whole pad of Target rain check forms went through the washer. Not the first time things have been left in the pockets, but probably the messiest.

I'm just not that into it

You know when we get a movie from Netflix and it's not that great - I don't really care that much. We just send it back in a get another. But when I actually go to the theater, I want to watch something that's good. Lesson learned - even if it gives away part of the plot, it's worth reading some reviews before you dish out the money.

Oh, and if you were thinking about seeing He's Just Not That Into You - let me save you some time. Don't.

Mess of pudding pie goodness

So, I did a little adlibbing with this recipe and it actually turned out really good. Totally didn't set up, so looked like a mass of goo when eating it - but it was some yummy goo. It was sooo easy that I thought I'd share.

Chocolate graham cracker crust
White chocolate pudding mix
Whipped topping
Strawberries

Layer crust with slices of strawberry. Make pudding and mix with approx. 1/4 - 1/3 tub of whipped topping. Top with diced strawberries and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

I was going to take this to small group tomorrow night, but since plans were changed Josh and I will be forced to eat it ourselves.

10 Things I am thankful for (in no particular order)

1. That I have someOne to be thankful to - and He is good
2. My hubby - he is awesome and works so hard
3. That not now does not mean not ever
4. Our fish that are still alive - and yes, this is an accomplishment - and no, I had nothing to do with it
5. Some warm spring days
6. Nice, long, relaxed conversations that encourage me
7. All the meat/food in our freezer (and that we did not lose power, so it's still there)
8. Books on tape so I can read and drive at the same time
9. Music
10. Something in the mail box that is not an ad or a bill

My cousin Becka started this and even though she didn't tag me, she did tag people who read her blog. So I nominate myself. ... because I'm in a bad mood and I feel like complaining.

1. One step forward, three steps back - just trying to get some traction

I'm still trying to decide if that list helps or makes me want to cry (see #5).

Tempted, but I'll refrain

Tomorrow we are heading to Ohio. Why you may ask?
That's my sister with her fiance. And this weekend we have the wedding showers! I have one last thing to pick up and the gift(s) are complete.

Usually when we are going away for the weekend I am stressed out at this point. But tonight I'm doing pretty good. Still not packed, but also not worried about it. Just looking forward to spending time with my family.

Josh has been working more hours at DC and will be indefinitely. That is great news for DC and our finances, but it also means I have to get used to him being gone in the evenings again. I tend to be more productive when he's not home. Because I want to have my time free when he does get home.

Tonight I decided to clean the kitchen. This included wiping down the front of cabinets, mopping the floor, wiping down the baseboards, dishes (always), and my personal favorite - cleaning the microwave. I know - I'm living big. lol The saddest thing is our microwave has not been cleaned in so long that I was really tempted to post a picture of the finished product. But I decided you all know what the inside of a microwave looks like. Oh yeah, and then I made soup for dinner and messed the kitchen up again. But the microwave still looks good. I'm so proud.

Oh. my. goodness

I just found out that Christy Nockels is recording a new cd - due out this summer. On my anniversary to be more exact. It gets better! If you sign up for her email list you can download one of the new songs for free. Go here. I haven't listened to the song yet, but I am sure it will be good.
